Kimball High School’s very own Bollywood fusion dance team, KHS Vistaar, is set to perform on September 19th at the Tracy Hills Ganesh Chaturthi festival for their first performance. Vistaar is known for their vibrant and remarkable cultural renditions and always brings rhythm and glamour to whatever venue they perform at. Their first performance marks the start of the team’s brilliant showcasing of South Asian dance styles.
Vistaar’s first performance is expected to be a blend of upbeat, modern moves while also honoring traditional South Asian beats. Consisting of extremely hardworking and talented dancers, they are ready to proudly represent Kimball at a community level.
The team’s president, Ananya Reddy Shoda, is excited to start the year with such a dynamic group and function. When asked about the choreographing process, she responds,
“It has been so much fun bringing this routine to life! The team’s energy is amazing, and watching everyone hype each other up and perfect the moves has been the best part”.
Additionally, the team’s assistant choreographer, Hasita Mandadapu, expresses excitement for the event. When asked to describe how practice has been going, she states,
“The girls have been working really hard to put on a great show for the thousands of people who go to the event”.
As the group's eagerness mounts, their performance becomes a symbol of pride across diverse South Asian backgrounds and a community that continues to celebrate varied identities. Vistaar’s presence as a club and a team reminds us that diversity and differences are the heartbeat of Kimball, and that celebrating diverse identities is the fuel that makes this school a wonderful place to learn and grow.
